TCO really matters (732.59 KB)
Data Integration (DI) is expensive and hard – that’s how business views it today. But does it need to be? This paper takes a look back and examines the promise of the current data integration tools and assesses how well that promise has been fulfilled. Against this background the gaps, opportunities and challenges are identified. The focus then shifts to the key requirements for the future, the new data integration tools now becoming available, and illustrates how these are better able to meet the requirement for lower total cost of ownership (TCO) of today’s more agile and faster moving businesses. The paper concludes by offering ten tips for selecting the next DI tool.
all aboard the data integration expressor (650.12 KB)
A new entrant to the data integration space is expressor software. Although there is no shortage of integration technology out there, in practice, large scale integration projects involve a large amount of manual scripts which deal with what transformation to apply to a certain column in a source system before sending it on to a target system. This approach often results in business rules being embedded within this code, and hence not re-used in other projects.
data integration: what's next? (603.57 KB)
No one can deny that the conduct of business today is remarkably different - faster, more competitive and more diverse than it was a decade ago. Whether this can be attributed to market forces and innovation or, rather, to the advance of technology, is an open question. It does seem, however, that technology has played the leading role and business has had to adapt to keep up.
semantic discord and data (dis)integration (302.12 KB)
As business requirements continue to accelerate, the ability of existing data integration technologies to solve those requirements lags appreciably behind. In an effort to address this issue, vendors have been frantically retooling their platforms and/or buying "complementary technologies" to help them stay afloat. Unfortunately, these incremental improvements and bolt-on solutions have not been successful in resolving the core problem. What is needed is a fundamental shift in the way that data integration projects are approached. This paper lays out the nuts and bolts of the problem and the subsequent groundwork for defining the solution.

product overview

expressor 1.0 product overview (766.73 KB)
Today’s data integration tools are too complex, expensive, inefficient and labor-intensive. They are based on obsolete, CPU-based pricing models and they are difficult to scale. It’s time to discover a smarter, faster, and lower-cost alternative to the conventional approach to data integration. expressor software tackles the complexity and cost of enterprise IT projects with semantic data integration software that delivers breakthrough development productivity and data processing performance at a significant price/performance advantage.
