American Tower’s Manager of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Geoff Speare will describe how his company is using the expressor semantic data integration system™ to improve the performance and capabilities of its existing Microsoft SQL Server enterprise data warehouse. The company is replacing Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) with expressor for this application.

PPC will use the expressor semantic data integration system as part of its enterprise information management (EIM) framework to ensure the capture, delivery and security of high-quality information at every link of the Information Supply Chain for its US-based government and commercial customers.

    sneak peek: expressor 2.2

    At the Gartner Business Intelligence Summit in April, expressor will unveil version 2.2 of the expressor semantic data integration system – which will feature enhancements in:

    • semantic rationalization – optimizations for the quick data access required by tactical, time-boxed data integration/data migration projects
    • performance – new internal data typing capabilities improve handling of very large data values for pharmaceutical, healthcare and financial applications
    • collaborative team development – including higher granularity version control and an enhanced security model
    • database connectivity – new framework enables expressor to quickly respond to customer requirements for diverse sources and targets
    • Microsoft platform support – including Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server, IE8, SQL Server 2008, plus several field-developed custom integration utilities/scripts to tightly integrate with SSIS control flows and an enhanced SQL Server bulk loader
