August 2010

Interview with CEO Bob Potter

1. How is the expressor business doing and what’s your outlook for the remainder of 2010?

Since we introduced expressor 2.0 in July of 2009 we have experienced steady customer adoption and revenue growth. Every quarter starting with Q3 of ’09 has resulted in growth over the previous quarter. We are seeing repeat orders from existing customers and successful customer deployments. I expect the second half of this year to be a continuation of this trend and with some help from an improving worldwide economy, an excellent Q4.

2. You recently announced Skechers as a new customer. Who did you partner with for this business?

The Skechers win was very satisfying for us. First and foremost this is an outstandingly well-run company experiencing exponential growth in a very competitive market. Skechers’ technology evaluations were very thorough and having been down this path once before, we found the customer to be very educated and serious in defining the success criteria of their data warehouse initiative. We partnered with Teradata’s newly established mid-market team, who treated us as equals throughout the entire evaluation process. Skechers in turn quickly realized that Teradata and expressor are committed to each other and on jointly delivering customer success.

3. You are talking more and more with prospects, customers and partners about your upcoming expressor 3.0 release. What can we expect to see in this release and when?

After getting expressor software started and financed, expressor 3.0 is the single most important milestone in the history of the company to date. Based on the first two expressor 3.0 pre-release versions in the field, we are expecting this release to deliver on the original vision of the company, which is to deliver pervasive, cost-effective, fast and easy-to-use data integration software. There are some vendors out there that deliver on one or even a couple of these promises, but no one delivers on all four. Our software is already cost-effective and fast. By delivering game changing breakthrough usability, we believe we can lead a revolution in making data integration software ubiquitous and realize our vision.
