Robert Scott, CTO, Acxius As the CTO of Acxius, Robert has over 15 years of experience as a Technology Leader solving client’s business problems with a lot of passion, creativity and focus. He is considered as a hands-on industry technology leader in the data, information and business performance domain. According to him “Strategic Thinking and Incremental Delivery” is the key towards success. As a technology leader his focus is to provide innovative architecture and solutions towards client’s unique problems related to data, information and business performance.
Prior to joining Acxius, Robert did work for several Global 2000 Companies, spanning several vertical markets, and large Consulting Organizations as a technology leader with primary focus in Strategy, Architecture and Design related to Data Management and Information Management. His strength is his ability to work effectively at all tiers within an organization from developers to the CTO, CIO and CEOs of corporations. He strongly believes in technology as an "Enabler for Improvement".
John Russell, chief scientist and founder, expressor software
John Russell is responsible for product vision and architecture as well as the design and implementation of the expressor semantic data integration systemtm. With more than 18 years of systems development experience, John is an expert in designing and implementing high-speed search techniques and data integration processes. His broad experience in search and data integration ranges from performance tuning, data modeling and analysis and star schema database design to architectural design, systems design, and implementation.
Before co-founding expressor software, John was architect and senior implementation consultant for a number of large-scale, complex data warehousing and data integration projects for Ameritrade, British Telecom, Mutual of Omaha, Cabelas, Union Pacific, United Airlines, Alltel, and Verizon. Earlier in his career, he was a principal consultant for Knightsbridge Solutions, specializing in Telecoms and Consumer-Handling ETL. His experience also includes several years at InfoUSA, where he managed the development of the company’s proprietary database and ETL products. John attended the University of Nebraska, where he majored in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Bob Zurek, CTO and VP, product management, Infobright
Bob Zurek holds the position of CTO and VP, Product Management and is also responsible for client services including sales engineering and implementation services.
Bob has over 25 years of proven success in software development, technology research, and product management, along with deep expertise in database management systems, business intelligence (BI) and open source technologies.
Prior to joining Infobright, Bob was Vice President Products and CTO at EnterpriseDB, where he led the company’s technology and product management operations for their open source product line. Prior to EnterpriseDB, he held management positions at IBM, Ascential Software, and other technology companies where he consistently demonstrated the ability to define and deliver market-leading products with strong competitive differentiation.
Bob holds a BS in Earth Science from the University of New Hampshire at Keene State. He is a frequent speaker at industry events, a member of the Mass Software Council where he co-leads the effort on Open Source Technologies, a member of the IDC Software Leadership Council, and serves on the advisory board of a number of technology companies.
